According to New Zealand publication Stuff, the FBI is on the defense after being accused in court by lawyers representing file sharing site Megaupload that it illegally exported data it seized from the company and its founder Kim Dotcom.
Kim Dotcom’s defense team claimed in a New Zealand Court that information taken from hard drives belonging to Dotcom and the Megaupload should have remained in New Zealand unless the FBI obtained “express permission” from local police. The FBI took data from seven hard drives that were seized by New Zealand police during a raid of Dotcom’s home in early 2012.
